Norman Posecion's night skylines are personal journals from childhood memories. Settling eventually near the city of Iloilo these works represent as nostalgic reminiscences of quiet changes around him. This is the second time that Posecion has exhibited at Kulay Diwa Art Galleries having shown with fellow Ilonggo artists in 'Memoirs of Mirages'. He currently works at the Museo Iloilo with the museum's exhibitions and collections.
In Posecion's works; the swirling dance of color against blurring confluence of brushstrokes wrought images like a kaleidoscope; his paintings interact to the viewers in an ideational manner. Like a window to his mind, his works invite you to see the ever-changing forms of dreams and its fleeting existence within. Largely self-taught, this Iloilo City based painter has been intrigued by the urban development of his town. Captured images of city lights and silhouettes repeat across his canvases.
Kulay-Diwa is a venue for Philippines and Southeast Asian Contemporary Art. Inaugurated on February 7, 1987, Kulay-Diwa, is strategically located within a cluster of communities South of Manila. It has five independent exhibition areas able to accommodate large-scale works and a garden ideal for programs, performances and sculpture installations. The goal of the gallery is to discover and promote the works of young, talented but deserving Filipino Artists and to foster cultural interaction and exchanges with the local regions and other countries.
